Type 1 and Type 2 Safety Storage Cans

Here at PWS we can help with your hazardous chemicals storage whether it be flammable storage or hazardous materials storage.  Flammable liquids are volatile in their nature.  They evaporate readily under normal atmospheric conditions.  The evaporation rate increases if the liquids are located in warmer areas, or near a heat source.

As flammable liquids evaporate and mix with the surrounding air, a condition may arise where the vapours generated can be ignited.  If ignition of the vapours occurs, the heat of the flame results in increased generation of flammable vapours, further fuelling the flame.

In order for a flammable liquids fire to occur, three key elements must be present - fuel, oxygen and heat.  Our cans are designed to remove one of the key elements for a fire so that the hazards associated with a potential flammable liquids fire may be more readily controlled.

Type 2 Storage Cans

We offer a range of type 1 and 2 safety cans for the safe storage and transport of flammable liquids.

Type I Safety Storage Cans by Protectoseal feature rugged, lead-free, ziacote™ steel construction for safe, in-plant storage and transport of flammables. Features include double-mesh flash arrestor for added safety, a locking flash arrester that prevents ignition of vapours within the container due to external flames. Leak-resistant composite gasket in spout cap.  The wide opening spout allows fast, easy filling and emptying, while the spring-operated, self-closing cap opens automatically to relieve excess pressure. Exceeds OSHA and NFPA requirements.  Colour coded to indicate specific liquid storage applications

Type 2 Storage Cans for convenient dispensing of flammable liquids with the same rugged features as our type 1 cans.  Separate fill and dispensing openings, both with flash arrestors.  Flexible metal dispensing hose eliminates need for a funnel, Spring-loaded filler caps.
